Nowhere in town: Siem Reap does not sit on the lake. Depending on water levels, ships anchor offshore or stop further south, and passengers reach land by local boat at the Chong Khneas landing, about twelve kilometres south of the city.
By road transfer. From the Chong Khneas landing it is about twelve kilometres to Siem Reap, then roughly six more north to the archaeological park. In the dry season, when the water recedes, the transfer from the ship is made by coach instead.
