Movie courtyards, two pools, and work under way

A four-storey Buzz Lightyear watches over one courtyard. Dalmatians the size of a building guard another. All-Star Movies builds its sets around 101 Dalmatians, Toy Story and The Mighty Ducks, and the effect comes down to scale: a six-year-old ends up standing at the foot of a character he knows by heart.

The main pool takes up Fantasia, with Sorcerer Mickey and his wand, a kiddie pool and a water play area beside it. The second, the Duck Pond, is shaped like a hockey rink. World Premiere Food Court serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in a setting built to look like a grand cinema lobby. In the evening, films play outdoors at The Reel Spot at no charge.

One thing deserves saying before you book: Disney posts on its own page that this resort is undergoing construction and refurbishment. The notice sits there without a published schedule. It can mean a wing closed, a pool out of service or noise in the morning, and it can also mean nothing at all for your stay. Have your advisor confirm the state of the work for your exact dates rather than finding out on arrival.

Rooms at All-Star Movies sleep four, with one queen bed and one queen-size table bed, or one king. A family of five needs two rooms. All-Star Music next door has family suites for six, and Art of Animation has them as well: if your group runs past four, the answer is a different address rather than a second room.

What a Disney property address gives you

Disney lists these benefits on its own page, and they deserve naming one by one, because most comparisons blur them together.

Early theme park entry. Thirty minutes ahead in all four parks, every day of the stay. The difference between riding two headline attractions and queueing ninety minutes for one.

Parking included. Standard parking at the theme parks, the water parks and the Disney Springs area costs nothing. Off property, it is paid every morning.

Lightning Lane seven days ahead. The general public buys them three days out. On the most sought-after attractions, four days of lead time change the shape of a trip, and it is the least known advantage of the lot.

Restaurants, the whole stay at once. Everyone books sixty days out. The difference is the block: from here you book the full length of the stay on day sixty, up to ten nights. A guest staying off property books one day at a time and arrives behind.

Disney transport. Buses, boats, monorail and the Disney Skyliner, at no charge. And MagicBand+ opens the room, enters the park and charges purchases to the folio.

Value, Moderate, Deluxe: what the words hide

Disney sorts its hotels into four families, and the gap between them is not only about luxury. A Value address gives plain rooms, a food court and buses. A Moderate adds a table-service restaurant, themed pools and more space. A Deluxe adds location — often walking distance or a monorail ride from a park — and extended evening hours. The Deluxe Villas add a kitchen and a laundry.

Everything else is identical: early entry, parking included, Lightning Lane at seven days, the dining booking block, Disney transport. A family choosing a Value does not give up the property benefits; it gives up space and distance.

Extended evening hours: what this category does not get

Disney reserves extended evening theme park hours for its Disney Deluxe Resorts and Disney Deluxe Villas, on select nights. The Disney's All-Star Movies Resort is not among them.

We would rather write it here than let you discover it reading the park calendar. If those two hours in a near-empty park matter to you, your advisor will name the addresses that grant them. Everything else — early entry, parking included, Lightning Lane at seven days, the dining booking block — comes to you in full.

Getting around from the hotel

All-Star Movies is served by bus, and by bus alone. The monorail, the Skyliner and the boats serve other sectors of the property. Routes connect the four theme parks, both water parks and Disney Springs. The three All-Star resorts sit side by side, and their routes are sometimes combined outside peak periods, which adds a stop or two on the way back at night. Keep twenty minutes of margin on a dining reservation or an early entry morning.

One thing to know whatever the hotel: delivery of park purchases to the room no longer exists. The service has not returned since 2020 and Disney no longer lists it among its benefits. Many Quebec listings still advertise it. What remains: pickup at the front of the park at the end of the day, or shipping home.

Who this hotel suits

This hotel suits a family of four or fewer, with young children who know the films and will recognise the sets before they are out of the car. It suits the traveller who wants a Disney address at the entry price and spends the day out. Past four occupants, look at All-Star Music or Art of Animation. And have the state of the work confirmed for your dates: that is the one serious reservation about this address.
