Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village

A savanna in front of the balcony, and a kitchen behind it

Kidani Village is the villa half of Animal Kingdom Lodge, built around a savanna of its own. Zebras, giraffes and elands pass below the balconies, and animal specialists run observation programmes on site. The difference from the hotel next door comes down to three words: kitchen, laundry, space. You can have breakfast on your balcony watching a herd, which happens nowhere else on the property.

The units and the bathrooms

Studios sleep four with a queen bed and a queen pull-down, plus a kitchenette. One-bedroom villas sleep five with two full bathrooms; two-bedroom villas nine with three bathrooms; the three-bedroom grand villa twelve with four bathrooms. The bathroom count is what sets Kidani apart, and it is what counts when nine people have to be out the door before early entry.

The savanna view is a separate category, offered in every unit size. The others look onto the parking area or the landscaping. Inside they are identical. Since the savanna is the reason to come here, settle that line with your advisor before any other.

On site and next door

Kidani has its own pool, Samawati Springs, with two slides, whirlpool spas and the Uwanja Camp water playground. Sanaa serves East African cooking behind a window onto the savanna, and its Indian bread and chutney service is one of the reasons guests from across the property come here for dinner. Jambo House next door adds Jiko and Boma, linked by an internal shuttle or a ten-minute walk.

What a Disney Vacation Club villa changes

A villa is not a larger hotel room. It is a home. Studios add a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. One-bedroom villas and larger add a full kitchen with range, dishwasher and dishes, plus a washer and dryer inside the unit. For a family coming down from Quebec for ten days, that means breakfast at the table rather than in a queue, and one suitcase less.

Two things deserve spelling out before booking. Housekeeping first: in a Disney Vacation Club villa it is not done daily as in a hotel room, and the arrangement depends on the type of booking and the length of stay. Have your advisor confirm it. Then availability: these units go first to club members, and the nights offered for cash come out sparingly. Booking early is worth more here than anywhere else on the property.

What a Disney property address gives you

Disney lists these benefits on its own page, and they deserve naming one by one, because most comparisons blur them together.

Early theme park entry. Thirty minutes ahead in all four parks, every day of the stay. The difference between riding two headline attractions and queueing ninety minutes for one.

Parking included. Standard parking at the theme parks, the water parks and the Disney Springs area costs nothing. Off property, it is paid every morning.

Lightning Lane seven days ahead. The general public buys them three days out. On the most sought-after attractions, four days of lead time change the shape of a trip, and it is the least known advantage of the lot.

Restaurants, the whole stay at once. Everyone books sixty days out. The difference is the block: from here you book the full length of the stay on day sixty, up to ten nights. A guest staying off property books one day at a time and arrives behind.

Disney transport. Buses, boats, monorail and the Disney Skyliner, at no charge. And MagicBand+ opens the room, enters the park and charges purchases to the folio.

Extended evening hours, the advantage that shows least and is worth most

Disney reserves extended evening theme park hours for its Disney Deluxe Resorts and Disney Deluxe Villas, on select nights. The Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village is among them.

In practice: the park closes to the public and you stay in it. Queues collapse, photographs become possible, and attractions that wanted ninety minutes at three in the afternoon follow one another in twenty. It is the benefit that best justifies the gap with a lower category, and almost nobody sells it properly.

Getting around from the hotel

Buses serve the four theme parks, the water parks and Disney Springs. Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is the immediate neighbour. An internal shuttle links Kidani Village to Jambo House. The monorail, the Skyliner and the boats serve other sectors: here everything goes by road, and Magic Kingdom Park is far. Disney posts refurbishment under way, with no published schedule.

One thing to know whatever the hotel: delivery of park purchases to the room no longer exists. The service has not returned since 2020 and Disney no longer lists it among its benefits. Many Quebec listings still advertise it. What remains: pickup at the front of the park at the end of the day, or shipping home.

Who this hotel suits

These villas suit extended families of nine or twelve, long stays, and anyone who wants the hotel to be a destination in itself. They suit children who will spend more time on the balcony than in the pool. They suit less well anyone whose priority is Magic Kingdom Park, or anyone who dislikes buses: from this corner of the property there is no other route.
