The same grounds as the Beach Club, a different register

The Yacht Club and the Beach Club share an address, a pool and a lakeshore. What separates them is the register. The Beach Club plays seaside holiday, pale blue and white, sand and umbrellas. The Yacht Club plays New England yacht club: dark wood, brass, leather chairs, a lobby that smells of polish rather than sunscreen. The same benefits, a slightly more adult crowd.

Stormalong Bay is shared between the two hotels and reserved for their guests. Three acres of water, about a hectare and a half, with sand on the bottom in places, a lazy river, three whirlpool spas, a tanning deck, two kiddie pools and a slide that starts from the mast of a wrecked ship, among the tallest on the property according to Disney. Three quiet pools are spread across the grounds of the two addresses as well.

EPCOT's International Gateway is a ten-minute walk along Crescent Lake. A boat and the Skyliner run to Disney's Hollywood Studios. Leaving a park and walking home changes the end of the day more than any other benefit in this category.

The rooms, and a suite that sleeps eight

Ordinary rooms sleep five, two queen beds plus a daybed, or a king bed plus a daybed. The Turret Suite, in the building's tower, goes to eight with four queen beds or a king and two queens, plus a sleeper sofa: it is one of the few ways to house eight people in this sector without going to Disney Vacation Club villas. The two-bedroom suites and the Captain's Deck and Commodore suites sleep six.

The tables

Yachtsman Steakhouse serves cuts of beef and seafood in the evening, and it is the table this address is known for. Ale & Compass opens for dinner with New England cooking, its market next door settles quick meals morning to night, and Crew's Cup and Martha's Vineyard serve by the glass. The Beach Club next door adds Cape May Cafe and Beaches & Cream, reachable on foot.

What a Disney property address gives you

Disney lists these benefits on its own page, and they deserve naming one by one, because most comparisons blur them together.

Early theme park entry. Thirty minutes ahead in all four parks, every day of the stay. The difference between riding two headline attractions and queueing ninety minutes for one.

Parking included. Standard parking at the theme parks, the water parks and the Disney Springs area costs nothing. Off property, it is paid every morning.

Lightning Lane seven days ahead. The general public buys them three days out. On the most sought-after attractions, four days of lead time change the shape of a trip, and it is the least known advantage of the lot.

Restaurants, the whole stay at once. Everyone books sixty days out. The difference is the block: from here you book the full length of the stay on day sixty, up to ten nights. A guest staying off property books one day at a time and arrives behind.

Disney transport. Buses, boats, monorail and the Disney Skyliner, at no charge. And MagicBand+ opens the room, enters the park and charges purchases to the folio.

Value, Moderate, Deluxe: what the words hide

Disney sorts its hotels into four families, and the gap between them is not only about luxury. A Value address gives plain rooms, a food court and buses. A Moderate adds a table-service restaurant, themed pools and more space. A Deluxe adds location — often walking distance or a monorail ride from a park — and extended evening hours. The Deluxe Villas add a kitchen and a laundry.

Everything else is identical: early entry, parking included, Lightning Lane at seven days, the dining booking block, Disney transport. A family choosing a Value does not give up the property benefits; it gives up space and distance.

Extended evening hours, the advantage that shows least and is worth most

Disney reserves extended evening theme park hours for its Disney Deluxe Resorts and Disney Deluxe Villas, on select nights. The Disney's Yacht Club Resort is among them.

In practice: the park closes to the public and you stay in it. Queues collapse, photographs become possible, and attractions that wanted ninety minutes at three in the afternoon follow one another in twenty. It is the benefit that best justifies the gap with a lower category, and almost nobody sells it properly.

Getting around from the hotel

EPCOT is reached on foot through the International Gateway, about ten minutes along the lake. A boat runs to Disney's Hollywood Studios, and the Skyliner goes there too from the International Gateway station. Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park are reached by bus. Bayside Marina rents boats on Crescent Lake. Disney posts refurbishment under way, with no published schedule.

One thing to know whatever the hotel: delivery of park purchases to the room no longer exists. The service has not returned since 2020 and Disney no longer lists it among its benefits. Many Quebec listings still advertise it. What remains: pickup at the front of the park at the end of the day, or shipping home.

Who this hotel suits

This hotel suits the couple, the business traveller and the family whose children have outgrown giant props. It suits anyone who puts EPCOT at the centre of the trip and wants to walk home at night. It suits a group of eight thanks to the Turret Suite. It suits less well a family with very young children looking for a hotel whose setting entertains: the Beach Club next door, on the same grounds and with the same pool, plays exactly that role.
