The Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando appears on Disney’s official list for early park entry. That is not what sets it apart from the six other hotels in the Disney Springs Resort Area. What sets it apart is what you eat without taking out your wallet.

The hot breakfast and the 5:30 Kickback, or two meals that never reach the bill

Hot breakfast is included for everyone in the room, six to ten in the morning: scrambled eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, coffee. Not a tray of wrapped muffins. A real breakfast, before leaving for the park.

Then comes the 5:30 Kickback, half past five to half past seven, every evening: hot snacks that stand in for supper for a tired child, soft drinks, and up to three alcoholic beverages per adult aged twenty-one and over.

Over seven nights, for a family of four, that removes fourteen meals from the equation. It is the whole argument for this address, and it weighs more than most of the Disney perks that get shouted about elsewhere. The rest follows: Kitchen + Bar, the Lakeside Bar & Grill by the water, a coffee bar, a marketplace with Pizza Hut Express, a resort pool with a splash pad and an arcade open around the clock.

What “Disney Good Neighbor” means, and what it does not mean

Good Neighbor is a designation Disney grants to hotels outside its own property. It says the hotel meets a standard of quality and sells Disney tickets at the front desk. On its own it grants no park benefit whatsoever. Dozens of Orlando hotels carry the label and receive nothing beyond it.

The benefits come from separate lists that name each hotel individually. A property is on one or it is not. Most comparison articles blur that distinction, and it is the first thing to check before booking anything in this corridor.

Early entry, and why this hotel qualifies

Disney names the Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando on its Early Theme Park Entry list. Guests enter all four parks thirty minutes before the published opening time, every day of the stay, with a valid ticket for the park being visited.

Thirty minutes sounds modest. In practice it is the difference between walking onto two headline attractions and standing ninety minutes for one. The gap is widest at Magic Kingdom Park and at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where the morning queues build fastest. Bring proof of the reservation: the benefit is verified at the gate.

The shuttle, the parking and the trap to avoid

The Drury shuttle serves the four theme parks, Disney Springs and the two water parks, on a posted daily schedule, with no reservation needed. That is wider than most hotels in the area offer, since they stop at the four parks.

Watch one point where this hotel differs from its neighbours, and not in its favour: parking here is charged. Several hotels in the Disney Springs area include it; this one bills it. Theme park parking is a separate bill again, and confusing the two is the most expensive misunderstanding in the sector. Your advisor has the current rates.

One more thing, and it is recent: since 28 June 2026 Disney checks room keys on its buses leaving Disney Springs. Parking there to catch the Disney network was a well-travelled shortcut. It closed.

Restaurant reservations, one day at a time

Everyone books Walt Disney World table service sixty days ahead. The difference is not the window, it is the block. Guests of a Disney-owned hotel book the whole stay at once on day sixty. Staying off property, you book one day at a time, each at its own sixty-day mark.

Over seven nights that means the on-property family takes the sought-after tables in a single morning, while you come back seven mornings running and arrive behind them. The remedy is a calendar and seven alarms, set for 6 a.m. Eastern.

Disney Springs on foot

This is the real reason to choose this corner of the map. Disney Springs costs nothing to enter, holds more than a hundred restaurants, shops and shows, and stays open late. Walking back to the room at eleven at night instead of queueing for a bus changes the shape of an evening, and it changes it every evening of the stay.

It also gives a family a free afternoon when the parks are saturated or the rain settles in, which in central Florida is most summer days around four o’clock.

Who this hotel suits

It suits families who count meals rather than stars, and there are many of them. Two included meals a day and early park entry make this the most economical proposition in the Disney Springs Resort Area over a week. It suits you less if you want a resort address with a spa and a view.

It suits you less if the point of the trip is to live inside the Disney bubble from the moment you land. There is no charging to the room in the parks, no Disney transport at the door and no Disney dining plan.
