Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Flamingo Crossings

Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott stands at Flamingo Crossings Town Center in Winter Garden, less than two kilometres from the western entrance to Walt Disney World Resort. It opened in July 2021 with 273 rooms. It is the only one of the six hotels in this area offering standard hotel rooms rather than suites alone, which makes it the simplest choice of the group for a couple or a family of four.

What Gateway Hotel status gives you, and what it does not

The hotel carries the Walt Disney World Gateway Hotel designation. In practice it can be booked directly through Disney inside a package with park tickets, and a guest services desk operates on site. Disney also requires these hotels to meet its standards for third-party properties.

The rest deserves saying plainly, because articles from 2021 still circulate promising benefits that no longer exist. Fairfield Inn and Suites does not appear on Disney's official list of hotels eligible for early theme park entry, and extended evening hours are out of reach as well. For dining reservations you book at sixty days one day at a time, while a Disney Resort hotel guest covers an entire stay at once. The rooms

Three configurations: a king room, a king suite and a two-queen suite. The suites separate the living area with a half wall rather than a door, a detail that matters if you were hoping to put children to bed and watch television afterwards.

An important point for a family planning to prepare meals: this hotel has no cooktop and no dishwasher in the rooms. You get a small refrigerator and a microwave. The neighbouring Residence Inn, Homewood Suites and TownePlace Suites do offer real kitchens.

The pool and the facilities

The resort-style pool slopes gently in and offers water play features, in a courtyard shared with the neighbouring Residence Inn. The water slide is at the pool shared by Home2 Suites and Homewood Suites, a little further along in the area.

A hot breakfast is included every morning from six-thirty to ten, with eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes and a Mickey waffle station the children will ask for. Fieldhouse Restaurant and Cabana Bar covers the rest of the day. The hotel has a self-service laundry and a fitness centre open around the clock.

The park shuttle, without embellishment

Marriott advertises daily service to select Walt Disney World Resort theme parks at no additional charge. Here is what you need to know before building your days around it.

Sign-up is required, from twenty-four hours before departure. Seats are limited and allocated first come, first served. The shuttle is shared among several hotels in the area. It drops you at the Transportation and Ticket Center rather than at the park gates, which adds a monorail or ferry before Magic Kingdom Park. And the last return generally leaves too early to stay for the fireworks. For a stay without a rental car, have the schedule confirmed by the hotel before you travel rather than counting on it.

The Town Center on foot

A Target sits four minutes away on foot, which settles groceries, diapers and the forgotten swimsuit. Add around fifteen restaurants, a Walgreens pharmacy and an AdventHealth clinic. You will also cross paths with Disney employees, since the Disney College Program housing complex is in the same area.

Who this hotel suits

It suits travellers with a rental car who want to be ten minutes from Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios, and who prefer a simple recent room to a suite. The included breakfast and the walkable Town Center do the rest.
