The Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace is the largest hotel in the Disney Springs Resort Area: one thousand and eleven rooms and suites across two buildings, the Tower and the Island, separated by a body of water. It appears on Disney’s official list for early park entry, and that one sentence is what decides the value of the address.

A thousand rooms, two buildings, and the question to ask when booking

In a hotel this size, the room you get depends on the building. The Tower holds the high floors and the views; the Island gives shorter walks to the pool and the parking. Ask for one or the other when you book rather than on arrival, when what is left is what is left.

What “Disney Good Neighbor” means, and what it does not mean

Good Neighbor is a designation Disney grants to hotels outside its own property. It says the hotel meets a standard of quality and sells Disney tickets at the front desk. On its own it grants no park benefit whatsoever. Dozens of Orlando hotels carry the label and receive nothing beyond it.

The benefits come from separate lists that name each hotel individually. A property is on one or it is not. Most comparison articles blur that distinction, and it is the first thing to check before booking anything in this corridor.

Early entry, and why this hotel qualifies

Disney names the Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace on its Early Theme Park Entry list. Guests enter all four parks thirty minutes before the published opening time, every day of the stay, with a valid ticket for the park being visited.

Thirty minutes sounds modest. In practice it is the difference between walking onto two headline attractions and standing ninety minutes for one. The gap is widest at Magic Kingdom Park and at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where the morning queues build fastest. Bring proof of the reservation: the benefit is verified at the gate.

The shuttle, the parking and the trap to avoid

The hotel runs its own shuttle to the four parks, independent of Disney’s network, and the seat is reserved ahead rather than caught on the fly. The schedule is fixed, so the return at closing time is the one to plan around. Read it at the front desk on arrival rather than assuming it matches last year’s.

Parking at the hotel is free. Parking at the theme parks is not, and the two get confused constantly. A family that budgets nothing for parking pays for it again every morning of the trip. Your advisor has the current rate.

One more thing, and it is recent: since 28 June 2026 Disney checks room keys on its buses leaving Disney Springs. Parking there to catch the Disney network was a well-travelled shortcut. It closed.

Restaurant reservations, one day at a time

Everyone books Walt Disney World table service sixty days ahead. The difference is not the window, it is the block. Guests of a Disney-owned hotel book the whole stay at once on day sixty. Staying off property, you book one day at a time, each at its own sixty-day mark.

Over seven nights that means the on-property family takes the sought-after tables in a single morning, while you come back seven mornings running and arrive behind them. The remedy is a calendar and seven alarms, set for 6 a.m. Eastern.

Disney Springs on foot

This is the real reason to choose this corner of the map. Disney Springs costs nothing to enter, holds more than a hundred restaurants, shops and shows, and stays open late. Walking back to the room at eleven at night instead of queueing for a bus changes the shape of an evening, and it changes it every evening of the stay.

It also gives a family a free afternoon when the parks are saturated or the rain settles in, which in central Florida is most summer days around four o’clock.

Who this hotel suits

It suits groups and large families, because a thousand-room hotel almost always has space when the on-property addresses are sold out. It suits golfers too: the official hotel status halves the cost of equipment rental on the Disney golf courses. Nights count toward Hilton Honors, which no Disney hotel allows.

It suits you less if the point of the trip is to live inside the Disney bubble from the moment you land. There is no charging to the room in the parks, no Disney transport at the door and no Disney dining plan.
