Two recent changes deserve to come first, because they alter what you are buying: breakfast is no longer included, and the beach restaurant now operates separately from the resort, with its own billing. Breakfast and the restaurant: what changed

For years, breakfast came with the stay. That is over. The Gazebo Beach Bar and Grill still serves breakfast in the morning, plus lunch and dinner by the water, but the bill is settled separately, like any restaurant. Guests in 2026 also noted fewer beach towels provided.

This remains a very good property. It has stopped being an address where you wander down to breakfast without thinking about it. With full kitchens in every suite and a grocery store a short drive away, many families now eat breakfast in and save the restaurant for the evening. The suites: from one bedroom to a five-bedroom penthouse

The 57 suites carry sea turtle names, and that choice says something about the place. Green Turtle suites come with one, two or three bedrooms, for two to six guests. Hawksbill penthouses hold three bedrooms and add a private roof terrace. The Leatherback penthouse reaches five bedrooms and sleeps up to ten adults.

All of them have a fully equipped kitchen, ensuite bedrooms, generous living space and a terrace turned toward the sea. Reviews award 4.9 out of 5 for rooms and 5.0 for sleep quality, which is rare. The beach and the sea

The resort fronts roughly 150 metres of white sand, spread across separate stretches, on what the island calls the Platinum Coast. Reviews keep coming back to how few people are on it: you find a lounger without strategy or an early alarm.

Paddleboards, kayaks and snorkelling gear are available to guests. Waterskiing and sailing can be arranged on site, at extra cost.

Pools, gym, spa and kids club

Two outdoor pools, one of them lagoon style, open from morning until early evening. A fitness and yoga studio with cardio and weights. Speightstown on foot

A fifteen-minute walk separates the resort from Speightstown, and that is a real advantage. The island’s second town has kept its fish market, its colonial lanes, its galleries and its small restaurants where flying fish is eaten without ceremony. The Arlington House museum tells the parish’s sugar and seafaring past. Several good tables sit minutes away, which matters more now that breakfast is paid.

A car remains useful for the rest of the island. Without one, count on taxis for evenings out, and know that the week’s total climbs fast.

Getting to Saint Peter’s Bay

Grantley Adams International Airport sits in the southeast corner of the island. The road crosses Barbados diagonally, which takes 35 minutes to an hour depending on traffic. When to go, sargassum and the weather

Saint Peter’s Bay faces the west coast, the sheltered side of the island, the one sargassum spares most often. Heavy landings hit mainly the east and south coasts, exposed to Atlantic currents.
