GOLDWYNN RESORT AND RESIDENCES

Goldwynn is small, recent and oceanfront on Cable Beach. Only eighty-one units across six floors, and all of them residences: the most modest, an oceanfront studio, is forty-nine square metres, already larger than the biggest room at several Nassau hotels.

It is also the closest address to the airport in the whole area, about ten minutes by road, and one of the few offering direct access to a genuine ocean beach. The property has joined the Small Luxury Hotels of the World network, which makes it bookable through Hilton and eligible for Hilton Honors points, a detail many sellers still miss.

Two warnings follow below, and they are not cosmetic. Read them before booking.

First warning: the pool is closed until 7 October 2026

The official site states that the infinity pool is closed for maintenance from 8 September to 7 October 2026. It is the hotel's main amenity after the beach, and it is currently unavailable.

The beach itself stays fully accessible, along with the non-motorized watersports. If your departure falls within that window, have your advisor confirm the state of the work at 1 866 628-6241, and ask what the hotel offers in compensation.

Second warning: timeshare canvassing

This is travellers' number one complaint, and it comes up insistently. Representatives of a vacation ownership company approach guests on site, with vacation offers presented as free that several find misleading. The tone is described as aggressive.

We would rather warn you formally than let you discover it at the pool. You are under no obligation to attend any presentation, and a polite refusal is enough. Know it and your vacation will not suffer.

Real residences, with real square metres

This is the house's positioning, and it is solid because the numbers are public. The oceanfront studio is forty-nine square metres, the golf view studio fifty-two, and the Gold Terrace studio sixty-seven. One-bedroom suites climb from sixty-four to ninety-seven square metres depending on the view. Two bedrooms run from ninety-nine to one hundred and eleven, three bedrooms from one hundred and forty-nine to one hundred and fifty-eight, and the Goldwynn Suite reaches one hundred and eighty.

These are residences: they include living spaces and kitchens. The exact equipment varies by category and is not detailed by the hotel; your advisor can have it specified for the unit you have in mind.

In-suite: a filtered water dispenser, a Lavazza espresso machine, a digital safe and unlimited local calls.

The beach, and why it matters here

Goldwynn is oceanfront on Cable Beach, a long white sand beach on the north coast of New Providence, where the water usually stays calm. Access is direct, with no walk and no shuttle.

Every beach in the Bahamas is public, but the hotel occupies a dedicated frontage, far from the crush of Junkanoo Beach downtown. Kayaks, paddleboards, snorkelling gear and floats are provided.

Add the Rhizophora spa and a round-the-clock fitness centre fitted out by Technogym.

Eating on site

OIA is the signature oceanfront table, Mediterranean. Amara, Atria and Bar Paul round out the offering, with a café, an atrium lounge, an oceanfront terrace and a poolside counter. The hotel does not publish the cuisine type of those last three.

The property runs on the European plan, explicitly: meals and drinks are not included. Full breakfast costs extra.

The fees, and what they buy

A daily resort fee applies, calculated per room rather than per person, plus the tourism levy and value added tax. The gross amount is the highest in Nassau, but the per-room basis makes it better value than it looks for a family.

Those fees cover Wi-Fi for up to six devices, non-motorized watersports, the fitness centre, housekeeping, seasonal yoga classes and activity programming, in-suite filtered water, the safe, the Lavazza machine and local calls.

Parking is free, with electric vehicle charging at no charge subject to availability. There is no valet service.

The children's policy, to confirm in writing

Two official sources contradict each other, and the gap matters for a family.

The hotel's own FAQ states a daily supplement for each child aged eleven and under. The Hilton network page states the opposite: children up to fifteen stay at no extra charge in their parents' room with existing bedding, the supplement applying from sixteen.

These two policies are incompatible. Have them settled in writing before any family booking: your advisor will handle it. All occupants count toward maximum capacity, whatever their age. The minimum age to book and check in is eighteen.

What travellers complain about

Beyond the canvassing, two points recur. Room assignment first: guests who paid for an oceanfront category were given ground-floor units with obstructed views, with no change offered. Have your preferred floor noted on the file.

Then a neighbouring construction site, a twelve-storey expansion project, which generates noise. Finally, uneven housekeeping and contested value for money on dining and cabana rental.

The score stays good: 4.4 out of 5 on the travel platforms, and nine out of ten on another, the best in the area. The product is real, the operation has corners to fix.

Who this address suits

It suits couples and families who want space, an ocean beach without walking, a short airport transfer, and a human-scale property rather than an eighteen-hundred-room resort.
