THE COVE ATLANTIS

Read this before anything else: the Cove is under construction. Atlantis announced the tower's complete transformation on 2 December 2025, work began in spring 2026, and delivery is targeted for 2027, the property's twentieth anniversary year. The hotel remains open throughout.

What that means in practice: the Cove's signature pool has been demolished, the spa is being rebuilt, part of the six hundred suites are under renovation, and August 2026 guests report construction noise and views of the work from their balconies.

We would rather tell you here than let you find out on arrival. The heaviest complaint from recent travellers is not the construction itself: it is not having been warned at the time of booking. A guest who chooses the Cove knowing what is happening comes home satisfied. A surprised guest does not come back.

The exact state of the work

Here is what is verified today, without rounding.

The Cove pool is demolished. The adults-only pool complex that built the tower's reputation no longer exists. Distributors show it unavailable until the end of March 2027, with a note that dates may change. A replacement pool is in service, and guests who have used it describe it as adequate but less refined than the original.

The spa is being rebuilt and has been temporarily relocated with reduced facilities. Massages are offered in-room. August 2026 guests report paying full rate while the spa was unavailable.

The six hundred suites are being renovated in phases, along with public spaces and restaurants. Noise and views of the work therefore vary by floor and room orientation. Ask your advisor to note a request for placement away from the work zones on your file, at 1 866 628-6241. It cannot be guaranteed, but it can be asked, and it often works.

What replaces the pool, and is worth the detour

The Reserve at Baths Colonnade opened on 13 April 2026, the same day the Cove pool closed. It is reserved for registered Cove guests aged eighteen and over, with a host welcome, escorted arrival, welcome drink, iced towels, stocked coolers, culinary tastings, seasonal fruit and a sparkling wine service at sunset.

Family cabanas exist in a separate zone, but the pool itself remains adults-only. Several recent guests say they found a more polished experience there than they expected. It is the strongest argument for the Cove during the works.

Also still accessible are the Cascades Pool, shared with the Reef, and Paradise Beach, which many consider the finest beach on the property: soft sand, turtles and rays visible while snorkelling.

What the tower remains, construction aside

The Cove is entirely suites, six hundred units across twenty-two floors, with a step-down living area, sofa bed and balcony. The most modest run around sixty to seventy square metres, already well beyond a room at the Coral or the Royal. The corner Indigo suites offer two balconies. The Azure, Sapphire and presidential suites go far beyond, with butler service.

The Lapis Club, at the top, serves a refined breakfast, afternoon hors d'oeuvres and evening cocktails with dedicated concierge service. It is restricted to twelve and over, which rules out families with young children.

The dining, still at its best

This is the part of the property that has not suffered. Paranza, from Michelin-starred chef Michael White, serves fresh pasta and seafood, smart dress and by reservation. Fish, from José Andrés, works Bahamian seafood. Perch handles a contemporary breakfast. Sea Glass runs the cocktail lounge and small plates.

The project also calls for a new beachfront restaurant built around local produce and open-fire cooking, plus an adults-only beach club with private pools, tiered day beds and hosted cabanas. The name has not been announced and no opening date has been published: we will not sell it until it exists.

Conditions to know

Atlantis is not all-inclusive, and the Cove no more so. A daily resort fee applies per room, in the resort's upper bracket alongside the Reef. It covers Aquaventure and Wi-Fi. A service charge is added automatically to tabs. Atlantis prepaid meal plans are suspended.

The Cove sits at the far end of the property, next to the Reef. Count about five minutes to Aquaventure, ten to fifteen to the Royal and the casino, fifteen to twenty to Marina Village. A free shuttle runs roughly every thirty minutes, but recent guests find it unreliable. Plan on walking.

Who this address suits, during the works

It suits couples and adult travellers who stay within the Cove and Reef perimeter, food lovers, and those who accept the construction in exchange for an adjusted rate. An April 2026 guest put it plainly: wait until the work is finished if the signature pool is among your reasons for coming.

It suits less well families with children under twelve, who will have access to neither the Lapis nor the Reserve, and anyone who wants the casino next door.
